Finding a side-by-side that is right for you can be difficult. There are so many makes and models available, with all kinds of optional features, extras, and accessories to choose from. Here at Honda of North Carolina, we want to make your UTV purchasing experience to be as easy and stress-free as possible. That is why we have created this side-by-side purchasing guide.

Make A Budget

Having a budget can help you narrow down your options so that you don’t waste time looking at models outside your price range. As an aside, don’t forget to include extra costs like maintenance fees and insurance in your budget, as not accounting for these additional expenses can lead to you spending more than you originally intended.

If a new UTV has a particular set of features that you want, but it is outside your price range, look for a similar used model. Used side-by-sides are cheaper than new side-by-sides and many are still in excellent condition.

Passenger Capacity

Most side-by-sides can fit between two and six people, with increased passenger capacity usually translating to greater cost. On the one hand, purchasing a UTV with more seats than you will use is a waste of money. On the other hand, needing to take multiple trips because your side-by-side doesn’t have enough seats is not much better. Think carefully about how much passenger capacity you need before you purchase a UTV.

Features To Prioritize

Depending upon how you intend to use the side-by-side, you will need to prioritize different features. Farmers should look for a model that is compact enough to squeeze through fence gates and barn doors while offering enough power to be useful in completing tasks around the property. Hunters will want a camouflage paint job and enough storage space to stow their gear. Once you can articulate your needs, you will have an easier time finding a side-by-side that meets those needs.
